The articles in this volume were written by researchers exploring various aspects of Jewish life in Galicia and the former Galicia during the years 1772–1918. The volume is divided into four parts, reflecting a wide range of topics related to the history and culture of Jews in Galicia, such as the economic activities of the Jewish population, social and political activities, forms and institutions of Jewish cultural life as well as artistic and literary practices. We are delighted that our invitation to submit texts was accepted by both experienced and esteemed researchers, as well as young scholars at the beginning of their careers. In this way, the volume presents diverse research perspectives and a comprehensive review of the latest research. We hope the texts in this volume will serve as an inspiration for future research.
