We appreciate that you do not want your personal information distributed indiscriminately and this policy explains how we collect information about you, what we do with it and what controls you have.

Who are we?

Ksiazka.uk website is owned by Qart Ltd who also controls the data.  We abide by the Data Protection Act 1998 and we never share or sell your personal information or data unless you agree to it

Personal Data Collection

We can only provide the goods and services ordered by you if you provide us with some personal data.  For this purpose we collect personal data about you such as:

  • Full name, contact information(email address and telephone number) and postal address
  • Date of birth
  • Order history information
  • Payment card information (We do not store any data such as credit card details post payment.)
  • Demographic information and purchase preferences
  • Information supplied through feedback surveys or other questionnaires
  • Responses to offers and competitions

Information is gathered at the time of registration and during your use of the site. By registering and/ or ordering via Ksiazka.uk you agree to the use of your information for the purposes described in this policy.

We will use the information to:

  • Provide the information, goods and services offered through our website to you, for purchasing, billing and order fulfilment.
  • Provide the best service possible, ensuring a smooth purchase transaction as well as providing a site tailored to your preferences, wherever possible.                                                             

Email Marketing

Should you wish to view or amend any of the personal details in your account please do so at any time going to your profile information.

From time to time we may send you marketing communications such as newsletters with offers and bookshop news which we hope you will find interesting.  We will do this by e-mail if you have indicated that you do not object to being contacted for these purposes.  If you would prefer not to receive such communications please amend your contact preferences within your account at any time. 

Please note we will still send you transactional emails. 

We may use your email address to send you information about products or services that are the same as or similar to those that you have ordered from us and that we think you may find useful. 

We will do so only if you have indicated that you do not object to being contacted for these purposes.  At any stage you have the right to ask us to stop using your personal data for direct marketing purposes by amending your contact preferences within your account or by contacting us via e-mail.

We may also occasionally send you questionnaires or surveys for feedback purposes, in order for us to improve our products and services.  These emails are sent out randomly to our customers and your participation in providing any information is entirely voluntary. Should you wish your comments to be anonymous we will always provide you with the option to notify us of this within the survey.        

Monitoring

We may also monitor who accesses our website, for example we may automatically collect access information about you such as: the type of internet browser you use; the website from which you have come to our website and your IP address (the unique address which indentifies your computer on the internet) which is automatically recognised by our web server.  Such information enables us to access and build a profile of our users.  We use this information to improve the layout and/or content of the pages of our website and customise them for users.

We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site.  This can include using a “cookie” which would be stored in your browser.  

Disclosure of your personal data

We may on occasion have to share some of your personal data with others- like with our agents and service providers ( e.g. providers of payment provisions or maintenance services)

  • Access to your account is controlled by username and password which are unique to you
  • We store your personal data on secure servers
  • Payment details are not stored and are deleted after payment is made

You should bear in mind that submission of information over the internet is never entirely secure.  However, we promise to use our resources to safeguard your data and maintain a reliable and safe environment for that data when using Ksiazka.uk wherever possible.
